Restoration Plan

 

 

 

The Society’s initial task was to obtain estimates of restoration costs from professional restoration contractors.  As a result of these estimates, a restoration plan has been developed.

 

Stabilization

Phase I - Complete foundation replacement.  Requires elevating the building, excavation work, poured footing and rebuilding stone foundation

Phase II – While building is elevated, install vapor barrier and new    wood sill  on new foundation; attach floor joists

Phase III – Repair and replace structural members of Northeast corner, requiring new corner post.  Remove plywood flooring and replace with pine boards. Strengthen existing floor  joists

Phase IV – Remove existing plywood wall paneling and repair existing plastered wall.  Replace rotten window sills.  Replace rotten    exterior wood siding.  Paint, primer and finish coat, exterior walls
